Stomach Bug

Well the stomach bug is going around Murray in a big way. I had one church member who works at one of the elementary schools say they started the day with 12 out sick and by lunch the number was 34. One teacher ended the day with only 4 students. Riley had something strange on Tuesday night. She managed to cover me, her and the kitchen counter with projectile vomit. Later she baptised the bed and Tim had to change the sheets. But by Wednesday morning she was over it. I hope that is all we see of that for a while but I fear it is only the beginning of the winter sick season. There were two kids out sick at day care in her class too. I tried to get a picture of her in her cute little strawberry hat. My cousin had given that to us and it is just the cutest thing on her little round head.

Ready for Church

Riley is starting to figure out the walker pretty well. She can move forward and backward but so far isn't moving too fast. She was having to pacify herself while Tim and I got ready for church Sunday morning. As Tim put it, "she was wilder than a guinea all day."

Fall Festival

We had our fall festival with the churches at the farm this past weekend. We had a great crowd with about 150 people attending. The food was great and we had an inflatable slide for the first time which was a big hit. Dad brought his throwers again this year and helped many of the folks shoot some clay targets. For some it was their first time to shoot and he is a good teacher. Mom got stuck watching Riley most of the day. I can tell she was really upset about that.

Trouble

Riley looks like she's thinking hard about how to get us to do what she wants. I figure that will be our battle for the years to come. I have pictures from our recent Fall Festival at the farm to post as soon as I find my camera. I'm sure it is buried somewhere in leftovers from Sunday but if anyone sees it anywhere please let me know. Until then, I'll have to go back and post old pics that didn't make the first cut. Hopefully I'll find it this week!

Sweet Potatoes are so funny!

I'm not sure what was into Riley last night but every time I tried to feed her she would just giggle. I promise I wasn't tickling her or anything but she was just giddy. I was making a face at her so maybe that was the trigger. But I couldn't help getting it on tape. She continued her funniness in the bath tub. I'm glad to know she has her dad's sense of humor. He will laugh hysterically at a joke he's heard 1,000 times like it is the first time (even if it wasn't that funny the first time). He says I have no sense of humor since I just usually shake my head at most of his jokes. So I know she has to get it from him.

Riley's First Combine Ride

Riley got to ride in the combine on Saturday with her dad for the first time. It didn't take but a few rounds and she was out like a light but she seemed to enjoy the view out the windows. She has taken a liking to Millie the bird dog too. When Millie is in the back of the truck Riley can see her from the back seat and she just laughs and giggles at Millie.

Just swingin'

I got this picture and video this afternoon. Riley was enjoying her new swing set. I think she really likes it.

Pinky & the Brain

Riley likes the theme song to the cartoon, "Pinky and the Brain." It is a cartoon from my generation so if you don't remember it you can watch online at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQT5-zx_M-0 In this picture Riley kind of looks like Brain!

Farm Girl

Riley has several farm toys she enjoys playing with including her tractors. And in the bottom picture she is helping daddy with his farm maps. I think there is a calculator in there somewhere too. She loves calculators and remote controls - anything with buttons.
