All Dressed Up

Riley and the guys were all dressed up today. Tim and David had to work at
the funeral home most of the day. Riley and I got to stay home and play. She loves shoes. She can say shoes and she will put on any shoes she sees. If you aren't wearing shoes she will bring you a pair and stand there and say "shoes" until you put them on. Then "go" usually comes up in the conversation shortly after that. She is wearing my shoes in this picture.

Paperwork!

Putting Riley in the high chair is the only way to get her to stop long enough for a picture. Here she is writing some notes!

Riley's New Ride

Grammie and Pa came this weekend and visited. They brought us some new toys. Here is one of their fun things for Riley. A Barbie Jeep. It has two forward speeds and a reverse. Riley is just learning how to make it go. Her legs are still just a little short to reach the pedals well but we figure in a short time she will have it figured out. Then she'll be able to take Jamie and Reese on rides. Riley was quite excited. She enjoyed all the attention a little bit too I think.

New Camera!

I finally broke down and bought a new camera. I had to try it out tonight. David (a friend who stays with us) Riley and I went to McDonald's. It was a nice night so we sat outside and Riley got to play in the playplace. She found a little boy about her age. He kept following her around but she didn't seem that interested in him. The playground was too big for her but she had fun anyway. There was another little girl there with the name Riley but hers was spelled Rylie.

Riley's First Sweet Corn

Grandpa Storey would be proud, Riley ate her first ear of sweet corn tonight. She kept reaching toward my plate and I couldn't figure out what she wanted. Finally I handed her one of my ears of corn. She ate it like a pro. I think it was a little hard for her to get it into her mouth enough to get a good bite so she would really push it hard against her face. It was so funny. Sorry the pics are so bad. I had to take them with my camera phone. My favorite camera that is almost 6 years old finally died. I'm in mourning. I loved that camera. It took compact flash cards. I washed one in my jeans pocket one time and let it dry out and it still worked and I didn't lose any pictures! I fear the SD cards won't measure up.

Riley's Kitten

We had a litter of 4 kittens earlier this spring and they finally got big enough that they would chase Riley around and she would pick them up and carry them around. At times she would have two to pack around. Sometimes by the tail or one leg or a head. Surprisingly, when she would put them down they didn't run in terror. They would actually come back to her for more abuse. She really loved the kittens. Unfortunally, the mother and 3 of the kittens disappeared and then about a week later we found this little black kitten dead in front of the shop. Maybe the others decided to move away from the abusive toddler and the last was a victim of rough handling. Who knows? But it was really cute while it lasted.
