Riley turns 6!

I'm still in denial that my baby girl is this old.  This birthday has been the toughest for me.  It is becoming very evident that there is no baby here anymore.  Here are some throw-backs to birthday's past for comparison.

February means Farm Show!

With the first realish snow of the season, Riley was able to scrap up enough snow to make a wee little snowman.  But the layer of ice underneath the snow was perfect for sledding.  Probably the best sledding conditions we've had.  The cousins came over and had some fun.

 

We had a great time this year at the Farm Show in Louisville, too.  Riley and Taylor got to chum around a little bit and we enjoyed the tractor pull once again.

Puppy Love

Riley loves her new puppy, Lizzie.  She has been a lot of fun to have around (but I'll be glad when it gets warm enough for her to live outside all the time)!  She is a blue heeler, border collie mix.  I saw somewhere they were calling them "blue collies".  We hope she'll make a cow hand when she gets a little bigger.  David took her out to check the cows and when they started coming towards her she barked and growled.  That might be a good sign.

These girls love to play together.  Riley and Jamie are the same age but Riley adores Jamie's little sis, Chelsea too.

Wow! What happened to December?

Can't believe how I've lost track of time.  We've had a very busy holiday season this year.  We've had some sick, I've been to a worship conference, Riley spent a week in Illinois and Tim work a gozillion hours at the funeral home.  I'm pretty far behind.  Here are a few pics from the festivities.

Princess Ariel

Riley went this year as princess Ariel from the Little Mermaid.  We had some trick or treaters from down the road, too.  Teshome and Will were a fisherman and a cowboy.  I love homemade costumes.  Glad the boys were so creative this year!

Is October Really Over?

 Wow, time has flown by and we've been running like crazy trying to keep everything going.  I did catch a few pictures.  Riley is sporting her new gloves as we are getting ready to take the trash to the dump.  And I managed to catch a quick picture of her climbing a tree in Aunt Clarise's yard one afternoon.  It was on one of those really cold days and the wind must have been blowing to create that wild hair do.
