Last weekend Riley and I made a quick trip to Illinois to visit my family. We spent a little time at my grandparents too. It always seems like there is never enough time to see everyone. I always have big plans of going to visit different people while I'm there and I just seem to run out of time. I snapped some pics of Riley while I was there. The ones from my phone didn't turn out as well.
There never seems to be enough time to visit everyone when you make a trip home, no matter how much time you have. After years of trying to visit old friends on our trips home, I gave up and just let them know that I'd be at either my mother's or my mother-in-law's. If they had time to stop by, that would be great. Otherwise, spending time with family has become the most important part of "going home."
We don't know this family but stumbled across their story on another blog. Their story is heart-breaking but their show of faith is extraordinary. They are both an example and a reason to be thankful for what you have.
