Riley had her first ice cream cone last Sunday. I think this first picture is priceless. She really hates the sun shining in her eyes as you can tell. We turned her away from the sun and she seemed happier. She ate all the ice cream down to the cone but I think the cone got soggy and was hard to eat. After a little gnawing she just dropped the cone. She didn't even get any in her hair. She was very polite about her treat!
With the warmer temperatures this week we've started to get out to the farm in the evenings more. Riley is finally starting to enjoy being out there. Daddy bought her a little tractor ride-on on his last trip for parts (this could turn into an expensive trend :). She is really figuring out how to make it go and can even go in reverse already. She also has a great interest in Ms. Kitty. I'm not sure Ms. Kitty shares the fondness but so far she hasn't reacted in any dangerous way. Tim thinks she needs a kitten. I think Millie even got a Riley kiss the other day. I'm not sure that was too hygienic. She didn't seemed to be bothered by Riley's patting and pushing.
We went to Illinois this weekend to meet our newest family member Reese. We go a few pictures of her and Riley together but she was asleep for most of it. She is adorable. We are looking forward to lots of playtime between the two. Riley got her picture made with Grandpa in the combine. The buddy seat has a seat belt so Riley will have a great place to ride this fall. We also got a picture of her with Uncle Jesse at their house. We didn't get any pictures but Riley also got to meet Alexus who was born in late January. Her dad and I are first cousins. Riley enjoyed playing with Alexus' big brother Joseph. He had a lot of great toys and was so sweet to play with her.
This picture was taken before the yuckies began. Riley had a fever on Thursday and had to come home from Day Care. I was in Henderson and Tim was in a funeral so thank goodness for Donna and Glynis who managed to get her taken care of until we could get home. We basically thought she was teething since there weren't other symptoms. We finally took her to the dr. yesterday when she broke out in a rash and was still running a temp. Come to find out she had two ear infections and something called Fifth Disease. It is pretty mild and accounts for the fever and sore throat. We go an antibiotic for the infections. Grammy (my mom) is keeping her today and we're hoping she will be feeling better soon.
