New Toys
Thanks to a cheap find on Craigslist (http://craigslist.org) Riley has a new plaything. We bought this gently used walker at a steal and she has been sitting in it some while I work in the kitchen. She can't maneuver around in it yet but she enjoys sitting up and playing with the toys. Her little legs look so skinny hanging down. She had a round of shots last Friday at her 5 month mark and she is now weighing 13 lbs.

Bathtime Hair
Riley likes bathtime. She seems to enjoy the water and the extra attention. I love the way her hair looks after I dry it with the towel. It is always crazy and standing on end. And then when it dries it is almost fuzzy because it is so thin. I took Riley to the dr. yesterday over a nighttime cough she has had for over a week. It has been keeping her up at night. The dr. prescribed vicks vapor rub on the bottoms of her feet and then put socks on her. She said it would work for adults too. The main reason for the socks is to keep her from licking it off her feet!

A Sweet Spirit
Riley is such a sweetie. She is so even tempered. Nothing ever seems to make her mad. She has had a terrible cough the last few days and lots of drainage. Despite how she must feel we can't tell any difference in her disposition. Tim got these pictures the other night of her many funny faces. We laugh that a lot of times she doesn't even look like the same little girl in some of the pictures we take.

Grandpa and Grammy Wilson
Mom and Dad snapped some pictures of Riley while they were keeping her this week. I think they had a good time hanging out together. Mom also caught a picture of some hummingbirds at the shop. Tim's mom bought me a couple of feeders for my birthday. They had only been up a few days and already had 3 hummingbirds.

Slim Pickin's
Ok-So this week has been really busy and I'm short on any good pictures to show. My parents were here this week but all the pictures are on their camera so when I get some of those from them I'll post them. I think Riley had a great time with her Grandpa and Grammy Wilson this week. I think she even stole some pancake syrup from Grandpa's hot cakes. I'm sure they spoiled her rotten but she doesn't seem any worse for it. She had a great day at day care yesterday despite some sniffles and a cough she has developed this week. I took this picture one day last week. Riley almost always falls asleep on the way home from daycare but this day she was holding on to the side of her carseat for some reason. The picture doesn't do it justice. It was really cute.

Daddy's Girl
Tim and Riley both enjoy at least one thing together - watching TV. Riley loves to watch. She gets so excited about shows like Blue's Clues and Veggie Tales but she also turns her head to watch the excitement on CSI and Batman Begins. Sounds like we watch a lot of tv which really isn't true. We're not home that much but we do like to wind down with it a little at night. Riley usually gets to watch her shows on Sunday mornings when Tim and I are scrambling to get our stuff ready for the morning services.

Her future is so bright...
We spent the day at the farm today. Riley tried out some new sunglasses. She really hates to be out in the sunshine but with her new shades she enjoyed the cooler weather today without all the squinting. They were on clearance from One Step Ahead. They have really great baby stuff online at http://www.onestepahead.com/. Later she sacked out in the playpen at the shop for a good nap.

Daycare
This has been a busy week for us. Riley has started daycare this week and we've been trying to get used to that change. I find myself making sure I spend more time with her when I get home which means things like taking blog pictures and cleaning my house have fallen behind. I'll try to get some pictures this weekend to post. She seems to be adjusting fairly well. She doesn't sleep much during the day. I'm sure she isn't used to the noises and crying of other babies. Hopefully she will get where she can sleep during the day. When we get home she sacks out for at least 2 hours and she has been sleeping well through the night to catch up.
